The Director of Materials management is responsible for the overall supply chain strategy, organization, operating processes, compliance system, and disciplines to deliver contemporary, best practice sourcing, procurement, and overall supply chain services across the health system.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Establishes and implements a Supply Chain Strategic Plan and annual Operating Plan aligned with the overall health system business objectives

- Provides leadership for procurement spend, including all material and services spend

- Drives supplier quality and the use of appropriate sourcing technology throughout the sourcing process

- Develops and drives a sourcing strategy that supports item consolidation, especially in the area of physician preference items, process standardization, overall cost reduction, and effective systems and information strategy/ utilization

- Negotiates and manages contracts with the GPO/key suppliers where the focus will be on more strategic relationships based upon agreed performance metrics over the long term

- Develops and maintains effective measures of performance; maintain key supplier performance measures and recommend/ implement actions based upon trends

REQUIREMENTS:

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Materials Management related field

- At least 5 years of hospital materials management experience in a Director role

- Certifications as CPHM, CPM, or CMM; AHRMM CMRP Certifitication is preferred
